Farm Stand in Westwood, MA
Fresh Local Produce July through September
Many families rely on grocery store produce that travels hundreds of miles before it reaches their table. By the time it arrives, it's lost its freshness, flavor, and connection to the farmers who grew it. At Bean Family Farm, we offer the community a better option: truly local produce, picked fresh and available July through September at our seasonal Farm Stand.
When you visit our Westwood farm stand, you're getting vegetables and fruit that were grown in our fields and from other trusted local farmers to offer a wide variety of the best produce possible in our short harvest season here in Massachusetts. No long-distance shipping, no warehouse storage. Just honest, farm-fresh food grown with care on land that has fed our community for fourteen generations.
What's Fresh at the Farm Stand
Our Farm Stand opens mid-July and runs through late September, depending on weather conditions and harvest schedules. Throughout the season, you'll find a rotating selection of peak-season produce picked fresh, no long-term storage!
Available produce includes:
Sweet corn: harvested daily during peak season for maximum sweetness
Tomatoes: heirloom and classic varieties perfect for salads, sandwiches, sauces, and grilling
Peppers: bell peppers, hot peppers, and specialty varieties
Onions and garlic: fresh bulbs straight from the farm
Cucumbers: ideal for snacking, pickles, and salads
Summer squash and zucchini: tender and flavorful
Seasonal greens: lettuce, kale, crisp and succulent
Fresh herbs: basil, cilantro, parsley, and more
Seasonal fruit: apples, peaches, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries depending on harvest timing
Local honey and beeswax: raw, unfiltered, and available year-round
Because we work directly with nature, our inventory changes weekly based on harvest conditions and weather. What's available one week may sell out quickly, and new crops arrive as they ripen. This is the beauty of truly seasonal eating: you get produce at its absolute peak.

Supporting Local Farming in Westwood
Bean Family Farm is the last working family farm in Westwood. When you shop at our Farm Stand, you're doing more than just buying vegetables. You're helping preserve farmland, protect pollinator habitats, and maintain the rural charm that makes Westwood special.
Every purchase supports our 14-generation family tradition of sustainable farming. The Bean family has worked this land for over a century, and your support helps ensure we can continue growing food for future generations. We believe in responsible stewardship, minimal processing, and farming practices that protect the soil, water, and ecosystems that sustain us.
When you buy directly from us, you know your food was grown or raised just a few miles away. You can see the fields, meet the farmers, and feel good about supporting local agriculture. This direct connection strengthens our community and keeps Westwood's farming heritage alive.
Your visit to the Farm Stand helps us maintain open farmland that might otherwise be sold for development. It supports our work protecting pollinator habitats and creating meaningful local jobs. Most importantly, it sends a message that local food matters to our community.
Hours and Weather Updates
Our Farm Stand hours vary throughout the season based on weather conditions and harvest volume. Because we're a working farm, our schedule depends on what's ready to pick and what nature provides each week.
We strongly encourage visitors to check our Facebook and Instagram pages for live updates before making the trip. We regularly post announcements about current inventory, special harvests, and any weather-related closures. This helps you plan your visit and ensures you don't miss out on your favorite items.
Best times to visit:
Mornings: for the freshest selection of produce right after harvest
All Day: for local honey, beeswax products, and our own farm-raised meats
Parking is available near the farm stand entrance on Clapboardtree Street. Look for our signage as you approach the property. If you have questions about specific crops or availability, feel free to email us before your visit.
Farm Favorites to Take Home
After years of operating our seasonal Farm Stand, we've learned which items bring families back week after week. These summer favorites capture everything that makes local produce special.
Sweet Corn: There's nothing quite like corn picked at peak ripeness. We harvest daily during corn season to ensure you get the sweetest, most tender ears possible. Many customers plan their summer meals around corn availability.
Tomatoes and Peppers: Our vine-ripened tomatoes are perfect for fresh salads, homemade sauces, summer grilling and much more! Peppers range from sweet bells to spicy varieties, giving you plenty of options for your kitchen.
Local Honey: Raw, unfiltered, and available year-round, our honey captures the flavors of each Massachusetts season. Produced by bees that live right here on the farm, every jar connects you to the land and wildflowers of Westwood.
Seasonal Greens and Herbs: Home cooks love our fresh-cut herbs and tender greens. Pick up basil for pesto, cilantro for salsa, or crisp lettuce for tonight's dinner.
We take pride in knowing that every item at our Farm Stand comes directly from Bean Family Farm or another trusted local farm that we know and work closely with in order to provide a wider variety of fresh Massachusetts grown produce!
